Safaricom clients with lines on 0718, 0719 and some 0722 numbers have not been able to originate nor terminate calls after some cable cuts around Museum Hill area. The CEO has promised that the engineers are working round everything (not the clock) to get the problem rectified.

The problem has been bad in Nairobi with minor disruptions upcountry.

As a result of the cut-off, some subscribers were unable to originate or even terminate calls on their handsets. Also affected were M-PESA, top-up and other services.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to our esteemed customers and assure you that the situation is being closely monitored and prioritised to ensure services resume as soon as possible,” said Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.
“We would also like to assure our esteemed customers that we will do our utmost to ensure our network continues to be reliable. We also continue to engage stakeholders with a view to addressing the problem of cable cuts whenever huge infrastructural projects like the Thika Road one, are being executed,” he added.
