Safaricom is out shopping and it has landed the MJ company at Instaconnect and IGO Wireless. Now since the purchase of 51% stake at Onecom deal seems to be paying well, Safaricom is strategising itself and you are seeing them now going for specialised companies. Instaconnect provides application services as per the license from CCK and.

Safaricom said its board had approved the purchase of IGO Wireless Limited, a fixed wireless data firm, and Instaconnect, an application service provider. No details were given for the size of the planned purchase. I would love to know what Safaricom gave out. The money brother. How much?

“Both companies are active players in the ICT market and our intended acquisition is pursuant to our stated strategic objective of enhancing our ability to grow our data business,” the statement, issued late on Wednesday, said.

Safaricom seems to be looking to kill competition completely. Safaricom has had tech innovators complain in a forum that the dominant player might be doing everything in Kenya now.
