Safaricom to Close Most Shops on Thursday

Safaricom has announced that most of its retail shops across the country will remain closed on Thursday, October 9, 2025, to allow staff to attend an internal event.
In a statement, the telecommunications company said the closure will affect shops in Nairobi, Mombasa, Malindi, Diani, Machakos, Kitui, Thika, Nyeri, Nanyuki, Embu, Maua, Meru, and Garissa.
The company also noted that some shops in the Mount Kenya, Coast, Eastern, and North Eastern regions will begin closing earlier on Wednesday, October 8, starting from 11:30 a.m.
The statement revealed that the reason behind the closure is to facilitate an internal staff event.
Customers are encouraged to use Zuri Chatbot, the Safaricom Contact Centre, or visit authorized Safaricom dealer outlets for assistance during the closure.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding,” the company added.
