Sarah Wairimu Allowed To Attend Husband’s Burial

Tob Cohen’s widow Sarah Wairimu will be escorted to a Jewish Cemetery along Wangari Mathai Road at around 2pm, court has ruled.

Wairimu who is a suspect in her husband’s murder on Friday sought to attend his burial ceremony after reaching an understanding with Cohen’s sister, Gabrielle Straten.

In an application filed at the High Court seeking orders to compel Lang’ata Women’s Prison to allow her to send off her estranged husband, her lawyer Philip Murgor said:

“We urge this court to issue  a production order to the OC Lang’ata Women’s Prison to produce and escort Sarah  Wairimu to the Jewish  Cemetery on September 23, 2019 at 1.30pm to attend the funeral of Tob Cohen,” Murgor said.

Wairimu, who refused to witness opening of her husband’s Will on Friday on grounds that it was compromised, is awaiting to plead to a murder charge on September 26.

The family’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta said that they are not opposed to her attendance.

Uncertainty however looms after the slain billionaire’s sister and husband left the country on Saturday citing personal reasons and expired stay in the country.
