SASRA Advertises CEO Position

The Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) has announced a vacancy for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

In a notice published in MyGov on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Authority said it is seeking to recruit an open-minded, self-driven, transformative and results-oriented individual of high integrity to serve as CEO for a period of four years.

“The CEO is responsible to the Board of Directors for strategic direction and implementation of Board policies, the Authority’s strategic goals, vision, mission and objectives, mobilization and management of its resources, directing and providing leadership, in order for the Authority to achieve its mandate as stated in Sacco Societies Act, CAP 490B and attendant Regulations,” the notice reads.

The job holder will provide overall leadership and strategic and operational direction to enable the institution to achieve its short- and long-term objectives. The CEO will spearhead the design of institutional structures, optimize ICT systems, provide customer-centered leadership and sustainability, lead human capital initiatives, and promote good corporate governance, prudent financial management, sound risk management principles and compliance with relevant laws while supporting resource mobilization.

Applicants must have a minimum of ten years’ experience in financial management, co-operative practice and management, law, finance or economics. They must be members of a recognized professional body where applicable and in good standing, and have served in a senior management position for at least five years. Candidates should also demonstrate strategic leadership experience and proficiency in relevant computer applications.

Applicants will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 by providing a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, a clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board, a Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority, clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and a report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau.

Applications should be addressed to the Chairman, Board of Directors, SASRA, and must be received on or before March 18, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

David Sandagi is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of SASRA. He took over from Peter Njuguna, whose term ended in August 2025, and assumed the role effective August 18, 2025.
