About 600 sex workers in Nakuru Town who are also registered voters have vowed to suspend their services on election day in order to exercise their democratic right.

Led by their spokesperson Lucia Njeri, the women promised to suspend their services on August 7 in order to exercise their right on the 8th.

The sex workers said they needed development oriented leaders because they want to get themselves better jobs in the future.

Ms Njeri said that they will also maintain peace during the election period and will not be misused by leaders to cause chaos.

”We will also maintain peace. Those in politics are seeking employment and we should not allow their differences to split us.”
