SHA Gives Hospitals September 30 Deadline to Renew Contracts
The Social Health Authority (SHA) has issued a September 30, 2026 deadline to healthcare providers seeking to continue offering services to its beneficiaries.
SHA said existing contracts with healthcare providers and facilities will expire on September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
In a notice, SHA Chief Executive Officer Mercy Mwangangi urged providers wishing to continue serving SHA beneficiaries to apply for new contracts and complete the contracting process before October 1, 2026.
Healthcare providers that do not have an executed contract for the 2026–2029 cycle will not be allowed to offer services to SHA beneficiaries after the deadline.
SHA said the provider portal access for facilities that have not completed the contracting process will also be switched off.
The authority has further directed healthcare providers that have not completed the new contracting process to make arrangements to transfer patients receiving ongoing treatment to contracted facilities.
The move is intended to ensure patients continue receiving treatment without interruptions when the current contracts expire.
“All providers are urged to complete outstanding contracting requirements promptly to avoid interruptions to services for beneficiaries,” Mwangangi said.
