Detectives are investigating an incident where a motorist was stabbed and killed on the road in Koranda village, Dago, Kisumu County.

The motive behind the fatal stabbing of Silas Onyango Mogo, 30 is yet to be known, police said.

The victim was seated in a car that was being driven by his wife on October 1, 2025 evening in the area when the incident happened.

His wife told police that she was driving home when a motorcycle with a rider and two pillion passengers blocked their way.

The two passengers dashed to the co-driver’s seat where the man was seated and stabbed him in the head.

They then pulled him out of the car and continued to stab him. He died on the spot as the woman abandoned the car on the road and fled on foot for what she said was her safety.

Police who visited the scene and the body had multiple injuries in the head, neck, chest, stomach and both arms.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

The police said the rider and his passengers escaped the scene soon after the mission was accomplished.

A hunt on the attackers is ongoing, police said. The incident left many locals shocked and worried about their safety even as police said they were pursuing the gang for justice.

Elsewhere in Macalder, Migori County, a Tanzanian national was killed by his fellow Tanzanians in an altercation at a mining site.

Police said the incident happened in the Nyalifa area where a group of miners live and work.

The body of the victim was found lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds after his attack.

The police said the victim was attacked by a panga following a confrontation with his fellow two Tanzanians on Thursday night.

The cause of the argument that turned fatal was not immediately known.

The body of the victim was picked up from the scene and taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Police said the assailants escaped the scene and efforts to trace them were ongoing.
