Six Apply for Supreme Court Judge Position

Six candidates have applied for the position of Judge of the Supreme Court following an advertisement by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on January 27, 2026.

The applicants include Justice Joseph Kiplagat Sergion, Justice Warsame Abdulahi Mohammed, Justice Joseph Kipchumba Kigen Katwa, Justice Francis Kipruto Tuiyott, Cabinet Secretary Anne Waceke Karatu Makori, and Lilian Wanjiku Wachira.

“The commission plans to undertake a stakeholder engagement on March 23, 2026 ahead of the shortlisting process and thereafter will provide a notification of interview for shortlisted candoidates,” JSC said in a statement.

The JSC added that details of the venue will be communicated later and that shortlisted candidates will be notified for interviews.
