Candidates at Nyabururu Girls High School re-affirmed the national school’s status as an academic powerhouse in the region after posting strong results in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

It reported an impressive mean score of 8.8, with 462 out of 505 candidates attaining university entry grades of C+ and above.

The results included nine As, 45 A- grades and 114 B+ grades.

Principal Joyce Orioki attributed the success to hard work and adherence to integrity.

“These results are a true reflection of commitment, consistency, and teamwork among our students and teachers,” Dr Orioki said.

Dr Orioki credited the success to a strong academic culture, mentorship programs, and parental support.

“Here we emphasize integrity,discipline, time management, and academic mentorship. When learners are supported holistically, good results naturally follow,” she noted.

At the privately owned Kiage Tumaini Boys High School , school director said all the 47 candidates secured university entry grades.

It registered a mean score of 9.851, an improvement from 9.680 in the 2024 examinations.

The lowest scored a B- while it’s top two scored As.

There were 3 A- grades and 30 B+ grades overall.

School director Joseph Kiage lauded the candidates for their outstanding performance describing the achievement as a reward for discipline, hard work and teamwork.

He noted that the performance reflected the learners’ commitment to academic excellence and their determination to succeed despite various challenges during the academic year.

“I am extremely proud of our boys. Their sterling performance is a clear demonstration that dedication, self-discipline and focus always pay off,” he said.
“They remained resilient, believed in themselves and upheld the values of Kiage Tumaini Boys.”

He praised teachers and support staff for their unwavering commitment, saying their guidance and mentorship played a crucial role in shaping the candidates’ success.

He further acknowledged parents and guardians for their continued support and cooperation with the school administration.

Kisii School , a giant national school recorded a slump of 8.523 as it’s mean score.

It scored 8.578 in 2024.

The number of top grades also declined significantly

The school registered a solitary A, about 22 low of the last year record.

A minus grades also dropped from 93 in 2024 to 60.

There was jubilation at the recently inaugurated Riokindo National Boys posting a commendable result with a mean score of 9.12335.

In neighbouring Nyamira County, Sironga Girls High School maintained its strong academic tradition, recording a mean score of 8.5438.
