Sonko Serves Subru Motors With Vacation Notice From Public Land
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has asked Subru Motors to vacate the piece of land along the James Gichuru Road in Lavington which was reserved for construction of a public library.
The land, the county boss says the land was allocated to the Nairobi county government by Kenya’s founding father, President Jomo Kenyatta on March 3, 1972 for a lease period of 99 years.
Sonko further stated that the last transfer entry on the title that the land was transferred to Riverbank Plaza Limited, associated with a former Nairobi city council senior staff was illegal.
The county boss also noted that the proprietor of the land is a good friend to both President Uhuru Kenyatta and himself but he will not mix friendship with the fight against impunity and corruption.
“We are sorry for him that we shall not mix friendship with this big fight,” Sonko said.
