Raised in Torquay, he attended Torquay Boys’ Grammar School before moving to King’s College, Taunton, on a cricket scholarship.
He developed through Devon youth cricket and the Somerset Academy, later representing England at under-19 level and progressing to full international cricket.

Career
Baker’s professional journey began with a Somerset Academy contract in 2020 and a List A debut for Somerset in the 2021 One-Day Cup.
He signed a professional deal shortly afterward and made appearances in The Hundred for Trent Rockets as a replacement in 2021 and Southern Brave in 2022.
Injury, including stress fractures, interrupted progress, ruling him out of the 2022 Under-19 World Cup.
He later moved to Hampshire ahead of the 2025 season, where he established himself in the County Championship, taking multiple five-wicket hauls and consistently bowling at high speeds.
White-ball success included strong performances for Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
Internationally, he debuted in ODIs against South Africa in September 2025 and in T20Is against Ireland later that month, both of which proved challenging.
He made his Test debut for England against New Zealand at The Oval in June 2026, claiming two wickets and earning praise for his pace and character.
