Former Vice-President and the NASA presidential running mate, Kalonzo Musyoka has come out to strongly dismiss the Jubilee duo over their remark on poverty in Ukambani.

In a statement yesterday, Kalonzo said that the President Uhuru and his deputy are panicking over “the impending NASA win” because the Jubilee duo have failed Kenyans and are going to be voted out.

According to Kalonzo, the poverty in Ukambani should be blamed on those who have been presidents like Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru. The former VP said that 3 of those Presidents have been Kikuyus while there still extreme poverty and desolation in areas dominated by Kikuyus.

Ironically, even as the President and his deputy launched a tirade of attacks on me, his own Gatundu backyard fares no better than most parts of Ukambani and other rural areas of Kenya in general.

The former VP went on to add that Gatundu residents are jigger-infested and are dying from cheap brews because of abject poverty while the area has produced 2 Presidents.

Kalonzo said that he has been re-elected four times because Mwingi residents have faith in him calling UhuRuto’s criticism of his leadership false and laughable.
