A storm wind hit a school in Nakuru and killed a three-year-old girl, police said.

Nine other minors were injured in the January 16 incident at the Pascal Academy.

Responders said the strong wind blew off the roof of four classrooms including that of PP1, PP2, Grade 1 and Grade 2 where the children were.

This left the child dead. The injured who were aged between five and 15 were rushed to hospitals in the area.

The incident left the parents of the deceased child devastated as the body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

The deaths happened on December 29, 2025, police said.

And police in Manyanja, Bungoma County are investigating an incident where a 70-year-old man drowned in a local river.

The body had visible injuries in the mouth and nose when he was found in the water.

Police suspect he had gone to bathe in the river when he drowned.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy.
