Student electrocuted in incident in Kilifi

A student was electrocuted in an incident in Tsagasinin village, Kaloleni, Kilifi County.
The victim was a student at Tsagasin Junior Secondary in the area, police said.
The boy was electrocuted while fetching water from a tank near their house on Saturday evening.
The water is believed to have been connected to a live wire.
Police were called to the scene and moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
Police blamed the illegal connection for the incident amid the probe.
Meanwhile, three separate suicide incidents were reported Saturday. All the victims were women, police said.
The first incident happened in Maraigushu, Naivasha where a 62-year-old woman was found dead after hanging herself using a sisal rope.
Police said the body of Lucy Wanjiku Kamurwa was found hanging from a sisal rope tied on the roof in her bedroom.
In Kisii’s Nyamache area, another woman aged 68 died by suicide in her house using a sisal rope.
The body of Serabina Ntabo was found hanging from the roof in the house. The motive of the incident is yet to be known, police said.
In Mwea, Embu County, a woman aged 19 died by suicide in her house.
Police said Pauline Wangui Njuki used a piece of cloth to hang herself in the sitting room.
The motive of the incident was not known.
The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
Suicide cases have been on the rise amid campaign to address the trend.
Police say the trend has been worrying and increasing as up to two cases are reported daily.
The World Health Organisation says such cases are attributed to joblessness, death, academic failures or pressures, legal difficulties and financial difficulties.
Other reasons are bullying, previous suicide attempts, history of suicide in a family, alcoholism and substance misuse, depression and bipolar disorder.
