Sudanese man found murdered in his room in Donholm

Detectives are investigating the murder of a Sudanese man whose body was found in his house in Donholm area, Nairobi.

He was identified as Matedio Lobalu Lokaye. He had been staying with a Somali man who said he found him unresponsive on Tuesday evening.

The roommate said he was concerned the deceased had not woken up as usual and went to check on him only to find him unresponsive with serious injuries on the back of his head.

The body lay on the floor in a pool of blood, police said. The roommate was detained for interrogation as a person of interest, police added as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

The motive of the murder was not established.

Elsewhere in Mbuyuni, Rabai, Kilifi County, a man was found killed and his body abandoned on the roadside.

The body was found in a pool of blood after the murder, police said adding the assailant used a blunt object in the mission. The motive was not established.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

The deceased was identified as Tuva Kahindi Makanga who is an employee of Changamwe Refineries.

It is not clear why he was targeted and killed. Police said he was on off duty at the time of his murder.

In Juja, Kiambu County, a man was stoned to death in a failed robbery incident.

The man was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed while being attended to.

Police said the body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
