Born on September 4, 1985, in Chiang Mai, Thailand, his full name is Sukrit Wisetkaew, and his nickname “Bie” or “Gumbie” derives from the Thai word for dragonfly.

This breakthrough launched him into the spotlight, earning him immense popularity in Thailand’s entertainment industry under GMM Grammy.

    Siblings

Sukrit Wisetkaew has one older sister named Mangpor, whose name similarly means dragonfly.

His father reportedly chose matching nicknames for the siblings to prevent any rivalry between them.

Reliable biographical details, including Wikipedia and multiple fan profiles, consistently describe him as having this single elder sister, with no mention of brothers or additional siblings.

    Career

Following his success on The Star 3 in 2006, Wisetkaew debuted as a singer with his first album Love Scenes, released under Exact Scene (a GMM Grammy subsidiary).

The lead single “I Need Somebody” became a major hit and established him as a rising pop star.

He continued releasing music, with popular tracks like “Mak Mai,” “Hug,” and others that topped charts and earned him widespread recognition.

Beyond music, he expanded into acting, appearing in television dramas and sitcoms such as Prajan See Roong (Rainbow Moon) and others.

He also pursued stage acting, receiving training for musical theater productions, including notable works like Behind the Painting.

Over the years, he became known as a versatile entertainer, occasionally taking on roles in films and maintaining a strong presence in Thai media.

His popularity earned him titles like “Superstar Kwan Jai Maha Chon” from fans, reflecting his status as a beloved figure in the industry, though his active years in entertainment are noted up to around 2023 in some records.

    Accolades

Early in his rise, he won the Best Male Artist Award at the Top Awards 2008 and the Star Most Popular Vote Award at the Nine Entertainment Awards 2009, the latter of which he secured multiple times consecutively (often cited for five years in a row from 2009 to 2013 as a testament to his enduring fan support).

Other notable recognitions include the Best Singer Award at Top Awards 2009, Popular Actor Award at Kom Chud Luek Awards 2009, and various honors for specific works such as the Best Drama Award for Prajan See Roong at Siam Dara Stars Awards 2010.

He also earned accolades like the Outstanding Youth Award from the Ministry of Education in 2009, the Filial Children toward their Mothers Award on Mother’s Day 2009, and the Influential People of the Year distinction in polls by Thai magazines.

Additional wins include Favorite Artist at the Nine Entertain Awards, Singer of the Year at multiple ceremonies like Gmember Awards and Daradaily The GREAT Awards, and recognitions for songs such as “Jed Wan Tee Chan Ngao” and “Kom sug jam nai lom hai jai” at Diamond Song Awards.
