Nigeria’s Super Eagles Chief Coach Yusuf Salisu was nabbed by dreaded Ghanaian investigative journalist Anas receiving a $1000 bribe to influence his team selection for the CHAN 2018.

Anas and his undercover crew posed as football agents and videotaped Salisu in September 2017 accepting the bribe.

They wanted him to draft two players who had previously played for the national into the squad that was Morocco bound for the tournament in January 2018.

In return they pledged to pay him 15% of sign on fee if the players secured professional contracts in future.

Salifu who earns $8,345 monthly is one of the most respected Nigerian managers. He guided the team to runners-up finish in the competition reserved for home-based players.

As chief coach he deputizes German Gernot Rohr at the senior Super Eagles and was present in Russia for the World Cup.

Just before the global showpiece Anas released a stinging documentary that captured dozens of match officials and football administrators receiving bribes.

This led to resignation of former Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi and banning up-to twenty match officials including Kenyan assistant referee Aden Marwa, who was handed a life ban from all football related activities by Caf.
