    Suspect dies in police custody at Keringet Station in Nakuru

    Detectives in Siaya County launched investigations following the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman under suspected murder circumstances in Gem Sub-County.

    According to police, the incident occurred in Kagilo Sub-location on March 29.

    The body of an unknown African female adult, estimated to be about 30 years old, was found lying naked inside an abandoned semi-permanent house.

    Preliminary observations indicated that the woman had visible bruises on both her legs and hands.
    Police established that the body was discovered by a relative of the reportee, who had gone to the house to retrieve a jembe he normally stored there after farm work, only to stumble upon the body.

    The scene was processed and documented by investigators before the body was moved to Yala Level IV Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

    No suspects have been identified so far, and the motive of the killing remains unknown as investigations continue.

    Elsewhere, police in Kitui County launched investigations into a brutal murder incident after a 44-year-old herdsman was found dead with his throat slit near Mwingi Game Reserve.

    According to police, the incident was reported at around 4:00 a.m. on March 29, 2026, by a local resident, David Ngui from Mulangoni location.

    The deceased, identified as Stephen Kyalo Kimwele, was discovered lying by the roadside within the vicinity of the game reserve. A team of officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Tseikuru, alongside police from Masyungwa Police Station, responded to the scene.

    Authorities confirmed that the scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Kyuso Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

    Police have not yet identified any suspects or established the motive behind the killing. Investigations are ongoing.
