Two suspects, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, accused alongside Migori Governor Okoth Obado have appealed the bail ruling made by Justice Jessie Lessit.
Through their lawyer, the suspects argue that Justice Lessit “erred and misdirected herself” when she denied them bail hence denying them their right and fundamental freedom.
The two aides of the Governor want the court to grant them bail on reasonable terms.

The two were charged alongside Governor Obado with the murder of 24 year old, Sharon Otieno.
Justice Lessit allowed the release of Migori Governor on a cash bail of KSh5 million, on the grounds that the evidence against him was circumstantial and not enough to deny him bail.
The other two, Oyamo and Obiero were denied bail on the grounds that their presence will cause fear, anxiety and intimidation to potential witnesses.
