The National Lands Commission Chairman, Mohammed Swazuri has been released on a KSh3.5 million bail and a KSh6 Million bond with a surety of the same amount.
The Anti- corruption judge allowed Swazuri bail on the condition that he will surrender his passport to the DCI offices.
He is not allowed to visit his office without police escort or prior arrangement so that he does not interact with any of the employees.
He is not allowed to be in contact with any of the witnesses or officers involved in the case.
The two were among 17 persons arraigned before Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi of the Anti-Corruption Court for illegally facilitating the payment of Sh221.3 million in compensation for the acquisition of land for the Standard Gauge Railway.
