Former National Land Commission (NLC) chair Muhammad Swazuri’s co-accused in the Ksh109.8 million scandal have gone into hiding.
According to a source close to Nation, the two directors of a company linked to the multi-million fraud case are currently in hiding and are being hunted down by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
The directors of Mombasa-based Tornado Carriers Ltd are Mr Nazir Ahmed Matabkhan and Mr Shakil Ahmed Khan.
Speaking on the two, Mombasa EACC boss Japheth Baithalu told Nation that the two have been missing since the arrest and charging of Swazuri.
Baithalu noted: “Our officers have been after the two whom we learnt have gone into hiding but we will catch up with them.”
It is reported that the EACC officers have been camping at the Mombasa court just incase the two show up.
Through their lawyer, the two filed an application in court seeking to block an arrest warrant against them.
In their application, the two want the court to bar the EACC from investigating any private person.

Mr Khan and Mr Matabkhan were linked to the fraudulent compensation of land acquired by the NLC for the construction of the Mombasa Southern bypass and Kipevu new highway container terminal link road in 2013.
The duo are in hiding even as NLC chair Swazuri is still in custody until May 2 as ruled by the court.
