The body was discovered on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in the escarpment area and reported to Lari Police Station at about 4pm by a member of the public.
Police officers visited the scene and found the body tightly bundled inside a white sack whose opening had been secured with a nylon string.

A black polythene bag bearing blood stains was also recovered near the body and taken as part of the evidence.

Police have launched investigations to establish the identity of the deceased, where she was killed and the circumstances surrounding her death and disposal of the body.
And a postmortem examination has established that a man whose death was initially reported as sudden death in Machakos County died after being assaulted with a blunt object.
The deceased, John Mutungi Kirema, died following an incident reported on September 22, 2026, at Muthesya in Ndithini Sub-County.
According to police, a government pathologist conducted the postmortem examination on Thursday, October 1, at Mbaku Funeral Home in Matuu.
The examination established that Kirema had suffered head trauma caused by a heavy blunt force, resulting in intracranial haemorrhage and cardiopulmonary arrest.
Based on the findings, police have amended the classification of the case from sudden death to murder.
Investigations are expected to continue as detectives seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault and identify the person or persons responsible for Kirema’s death.
