“The Daystar University council is not more important than students and members of staff. We will not accept corrupt individuals to soil the name of this institution. We will root them out. We are a Christian university and while we are in office we shall not let corruption thrive in this institution. We shall not let rulers of the darkness continue to drag this institution backwards under our watch,” a statement by the Daystar University Students association (DUSA)
The council has since suspended the key leaders of the staff and student unions. According to them the results of the audit report may be scandalous and may expose some unscrupulous individuals.
Late last year the university was closed indefinitely after students unrest. The students associations had a accused some parents of using the tribal connotations to try and resolve the issues.
