‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Set to Resume Production After Taylor Frankie Paul Controversy

Hulu’s reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is set to return to production following a pause linked to legal issues involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-partner Dakota Mortensen.
According to Deadline, Hulu confirmed that Season 5 of the series will resume filming, although the streaming platform did not disclose additional details about the production timeline or cast changes.
Filming on the new season had been temporarily halted after Paul became the subject of a domestic violence investigation involving Mortensen. The controversy intensified after a video from 2023 resurfaced online, allegedly showing an altercation between the pair in which Paul was seen throwing objects during an incident in front of her then young daughter.
The fallout from the incident also reportedly impacted Paul’s wider media opportunities, including a planned appearance on The Bachelorette, which was shelved by ABC following the emergence of the footage.
Authorities in Utah have conducted multiple investigations into allegations involving Paul, with reports indicating that at least one of the recent cases has since been dropped. However, legal proceedings between Paul and Mortensen remain ongoing, including a custody dispute over their young son, with Mortensen previously granted temporary custody.
Despite the legal and public scrutiny, production sources cited by TMZ suggested earlier this month that the cast had resolved internal concerns surrounding the incident and were prepared to return to filming.
The show, which follows the personal and social lives of a group of women in Utah, has gained significant attention for its blend of reality television drama and controversial real-life storylines.
