Thika United are passionately appealing for financial help from well-wishers more specifically from the Mount Kenya region.

The club recently lost their shirt sponsorship deal with Brookside Dairy following their relegation to the National Super League from the Kenyan Premier and are now on the brink of total collapse.

“Our budget in the 206/17 season was Ksh25 million but the sponsor offered only Ksh10 million, that tell you how tough it has been,” Michael Muriuki, the club’s director told Citizen TV.

“I’m calling upon well-wishers especially from the mountain region to come to our rescue.

We have so many talented youths full of passion from this region and we need to support them,” her added.

The team’s squad is thoroughly depleted after losing key figures including Harambee Stars international Dennis Odhiambo who sought greener pastures due to the dire financial situation at the club.

The club dished out a walkover in their opening NSL fixture as they failed to travel to face Coast Stima away in Mombasa.
