There are many events scheduled for the first half of this year, 2011. They range from developers to tech entrepreneurs events. We wil try to highlight the few which we can spot below and if you have one which you think we might not have looked at, please email the details to tech @ techmtaa.com.

    Africa 2.0 – 1st April – Cambridge,  Massachusetts, USA

MIT Sloan Africa Business Club has organised this event with the theme, “Africa 2.0: Achieving Growth Through Innovation”. The main idea is to bring together people who are working on ideas to change Africa in the future. The speakers and panel sessions will cover areas of innovation in Africa including Telecoms & Mobiles, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Healthcare and Energy.

This event is scheduled for the 1st of April 2011 on the 6th Floor of the New MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Tickets prices range from $40  to $60

    Pivot 25 – June 14th to 15th – Ole Sereni Hotel, Nairobi

This is an developers event organised by iHub and mLab. The event seeks to have to reward those app developers who can push boundaries and impress the judges. The developers will win exciting prizes which are yet to be announced.

    AITEC Banking & Mobile Money COMESA, 2011 – 2nd – 3rd March

This is more of a policy makers event. There are going to be many speakers at the event and most of them run the big tech companies around. AITEC used to be the main conferences we used to attend as techies. They have remained the same with the long policy mumbo jumbos. That has chased many of us but we hope that they are learning.

If you know any other event we left out, please inform on us.
