Top Two KCPE Candidates Score 453 Marks

Education CS Amina Mohamed has announced the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) which ended in October. The top two candidates scored 453 Marks.

The first candidate with special needs scored 446 marks which was an improvement from last year.

The CS said that the overall performance has improved from last year. Female candidates performed better than male candidates in English, Kiswahili and Kenyan Sign language. The male candidates however scored better in Maths, Science and Social and Religious studies.

The CS said that the marking  and coordination of the examinations was done in record time and with utmost integrity.

The Chairman of the Kenya National examination council reiterated the sentiments of CS stating that the exams were credible and were marked within the recommended time frame.

The CS said that the ministry of Education will not compromise  the safety of the children in exchange for extra hours of tuitiion

Ms. Mohamed cautioned parents to take responsibility for their children during this holiday season.

The CS said that there will only be one selection to Secondary schools which she said would be done well.
