The suspects according to the Daily Monitor got into the country through the Malaba border post and were heading to Juba, South Sudan.

Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, Jimmy Patrick Okema said the arrests were connected to the murder of the IEBC commissioner.

”It is believed the vehicle belonged to the killers, but I still don’t have all the details, maybe Interpol will give all the details. However this is the little information that I have, the arrests are related to Msando’s death.”

The car together with its occupants were taken to the Police headquarters in Kampala, the police spokesperson confirmed.

The car had a Kenyan registered number plate, KCJ 672V, hidden in the back. The plate is believed to have been replaced at Tororo District.

According to the Daily Nation, the Kenyan number plate is registered to a Kenyan politician, whose identity is yet to be revealed.
