Trent Sweeney is an American known primarily as the younger brother of acclaimed actress Sydney Sweeney, but he has carved out his own path in both the entertainment industry and military service.

Born in the year 2000 in Washington, USA, Trent grew up in a close-knit family near Spokane, close to the Idaho border, where he shared an outdoorsy and supportive upbringing with his sibling.

He attended Sumner High School, graduating in 2018, and later studied at Gonzaga University in Spokane.

Now in his mid-20s, Trent maintains a relatively low public profile compared to his famous sister, but he occasionally appears alongside her at events.

Siblings

Trent has only one sibling, his older sister Sydney Sweeney, who was born on September 12, 1997, making her about three years his senior.

The two share a tight bond forged during their childhood in a rural area outside Spokane, Washington, where they were raised by their parents, Lisa and Steven Sweeney.

Lisa a former criminal defense attorney and Steven a hospitality professional.

Career

Trent Sweeney’s career began in the entertainment world as a child actor, following in his sister’s footsteps after the family relocated to Los Angeles.

He appeared in several films around 2010, including roles in The Opium Eater as a young character and Norman, as well as later shorts like Generation Rx in 2014 where he played Daniel, and The Playful Coach that same year as Rudy Goodman.

He also worked behind the scenes as an assistant director on the short film Drifting, which was in pre-production as of recent records.

Trent tested for notable roles, such as the lead in Ender’s Game (2013) with director Gavin Hood and reading with Ron Howard for The Dark Tower (2017), though he did not land those parts.

By 2020, Trent shifted gears dramatically, enlisting in the United States Air Force after completing his training in August of that year.

He serves in the 48th Munitions Squadron, based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, England, and was promoted to staff sergeant in August 2025.

Outside of his military duties, Trent pursues hobbies as a Twitch streamer under the username PeanutButterPaul, where he plays random games.
