    Trouble In Nyeri County Assembly As Male MCA Punches Female Counterpart

    A male MCA from Nyeri county assembly punched his female counterpart after a meeting for selecting members to the committee turned chaotic. The male MCA later fled the county assembly.

    Female MCAs in the county said that their male counterparts of intimidating them by trimming them from all the house committees.

    Trouble started when the deputy speaker and majority leaders called an informal meeting to try and reconstitute the committees. A female MCA questioned the decision to remove the chairman of a committee which later turned into a shouting match.

    The male MCAs later held a press briefing denying the fact that there was a scuffle and said that the female MCAs were camera shy and that is  why they were not in the press briefing.

    Mr Kawanjiku threatened journalists against reporting that he had punched Ms Nyawira.

    Ms  Beth Nyawira has hard a difficult time in the county assembly as she was also sent away earlier for allegedly dressing indecently.
