“I have to work with the government for the sake of development and drought mitigation to save our people from the shortage of water and food” he said during the Jamhuri day celebrations at the Lodwar grounds.
The Turkana governor latest utterances are contrary to what his party leader Raila Odinga has said. He insists that the elections carried out on October 26 were a sham and that fresh elections should be carried out.
Nanok called out Jubilee leaders in the area saying that the were only working with the government to achieve selfish gains.
He maintained his stand on uniting the country after the divisive elections saying that as a chair for the council of governors he formed a committee to steer the call for unity.
“Last week,we formed a committee of 10 governors which will I chair. Its agenda is to unite the country by bringing stakeholders on board,” Governor Nanok said.
