Two die after wall collapses onto residential house in Mombasa

Two people, including an 11-year-old boy, died after a wall belonging to a logistics company collapsed onto an adjacent residential house in Kambodia village, Jomvu Sub-County.
The incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.
Police visited the scene after receiving a report from the Kambodia village elder. They established that the collapsed wall had buried three members of a family in the rubble.
The victims were identified as Ignitious Lenjo Kidero, 42, and his two sons including Elias Kidero, 11.
Police officers and members of the public rescued the three victims and rushed them to Mikindani Medical Hospital in serious condition.
However, upon arrival, Ignitious and Elias were pronounced dead. Samson was admitted at the same facility and was reported to be in fair condition.
The collapsed wall is reported to belong to Cevas Logistic Company.
The scene was processed and secured for further examination, while the bodies of the deceased were moved to Coast General Hospital mortuary, awaiting autopsy.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Meanwhile, police in Kayole have arrested a 29-year-old woman after her husband died following a stabbing incident in the Soweto-Muoroto area of Nairobi’s Lower Savannah Location.
The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, at a house where the woman, was reportedly with two visitors.
Police said the deceased, identified as Erick Ochieng Ogonji, arrived at the house and accused his wife of having an extramarital affair with one of the visitors.
A brief but intense argument reportedly followed, during which the allegedly drew a knife concealed around her waist and stabbed Ogonji in the left side of his chest.
Police responded to the scene but found that the injured man had already been taken to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment.
The duty officer later visited the hospital and confirmed that Ogonji had succumbed to his injuries.
The woman was arrested, and police recovered the alleged murder weapon. The scene was processed by crime scene investigators from Kayole.
The deceased’s body was moved to the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting autopsy as investigations continue.
