Residents of Metembe Location in Marani Sub-County, Kisii County, are reeling in shock after two men were found brutally murdered in a suspected related incident.

Police said the incident was reported as a twin murder in Obosando Village on March 31 and the motive is yet to be known.

Police visited the scene and established that the first victim, identified as Abel Masimba, 40, was found lying lifeless outside his house.

A witness reportedly made the discovery when he went to pick Masimba for their routine casual work.

Further investigations revealed that Masimba had last been seen the previous night at a funeral vigil in a neighboring village in the company of his friend, Richard Mabuka Mose, 42.

Mose was later found dead inside his house, about 200 meters from Masimba’s residence.

Police noted that both victims had sustained deep cuts to the neck and head, indicating a violent attack.

The motive behind the killings remains unknown, and no suspects have been identified so far.

The scene was processed and documented by investigators, and the bodies were moved to Marani Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where they are awaiting postmortem examinations.

Police have launched investigations into the double murder as they seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

Elsewhere, police in Kayole, Nairobi, are investigating the death of a 34-year-old security guard who was found lifeless inside her house.

Police said the incident was reported by the deceased’s boyfriend after failed attempts to reach her by phone.

The man became concerned after his girlfriend, identified as Sophia Karimi, failed to respond to his calls.

He proceeded to her rented house located at Kayole Junction.

Upon arrival, he found the door locked from the inside.

He then peeped through an open window and saw her lying naked on the bed, appearing unresponsive.

Police visited the scene. After gaining entry, they found Karimi lying on her back on the bed.

Preliminary observations indicated that the body had no visible physical injuries. However, assorted medicines were recovered from a table inside the room, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding her death.

The scene was processed by crime scene investigators, and the body was moved to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary for preservation, pending a postmortem examination.

Police have launched investigations to establish the cause of death.
