Two suspects arraigned over assault claims in Parklands

Two individuals were arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts in connection with an incident of assault causing actual bodily harm and threatening to kill an Indian national at Taal Lounge in Parklands, Nairobi.

The suspects, Rahiel Daud and Hikesh Motwani alias Vicky, who are associated with the management of Taal Lounge, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
They were remanded at Parklands Police Station pending a bond/bail hearing scheduled for March 30, 2026.

Detectives from Parklands Police Station acted swiftly after receiving a report of the incident.

On March 24, 2026, at about 3:00 a.m., the complainant, an Indian national visiting Kenya, was at Taal Lounge with his friend when a dispute arose over the bill after they had settled for their drinks.

They sought clarification from management, prompting the involvement of the establishment owner, Hikesh Motwani alias Vicky.

During the confrontation, Hikesh allegedly assaulted the complainant’s companion. When the complainant intervened, Rahil Daud joined in, punching him and striking him on the head with an object, causing injuries and profuse bleeding.

Rahil Daud also issued threats to kill the complainant, causing him to fear for his life.

The complainant was taken to M.P. Shah Hospital for treatment.

A P3 form was issued and duly completed. Statements were recorded from the complainant and witnesses.

They suspects were subsequently arrested and arraigned before the Kibera Law Courts.

On Friday night, the two were taken to hospital after they claimed they had fallen sick. They were admitted under police surveillance at the hospital.
