Uganda Cranes will play an international friendly against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on 20 November 2018 in Asaba, Nigeria, Uganda FA has confirmed.
The warm-up will come three days after Cranes’ crunch tie against Cape Verde in the Afcon 2019 qualifiers in Kampala.
“Matches between these two soccer giants have always been so close since time immemorial,” Uganda FA’s mouthpiece Ahmed Hussein said.
“A 30-man contingent will depart on 18th November 2018 for the trip to Nigeria.
Foreign-based players in the contingent will then connect to their respective clubs after the friendly,” Hussein added.
Both teams will field their national A men’s teams.
The two teams last clashed in 2015 with the Cranes winning 1-0 at Ibo Akwa Stadium.
Meanwhile, a point from the highly anticipated encounter against Cape Verde will see the Cranes through to the Cameroon edition of the 2019 Afcon.
