Ugandan national dies after falling from fourth floor of Nairobi building

Police are investigating the death of a 44-year-old Ugandan national who died after falling from the fourth floor of a building along Ngong Road in Nairobi.

The incident was reported on Friday afternoon by a supervisor, who informed police that a man had fallen from the fourth-floor parking area to the ground floor at around 11.35 a.m.

Police visited the scene alongside detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Scene of Crime personnel.

The deceased was identified as Ndekesi Ian, an Ugandan national aged 44 years.

Police said the victim sustained a fracture to his right arm, while blood was seen oozing from his mouth. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crime scene investigators processed the area before the body was moved to the Nairobi City Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

Detectives have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.

And police in Nyakach Sub-County, Kisumu County, arrested a man following the death of his cousin after a domestic dispute escalated into violence.

The incident was reported on Friday night, although it occurred on the evening of July 16.

According to police, Lawrence Onyango became involved in a domestic dispute with his wife at their home. As relatives intervened to separate the couple, his cousin, allegedly struck him on the head with a stick.

Onyango sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital, where he received treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care.

The suspect was arrested within the Nyabondo Mission Hospital area shortly after the incident and is being held at Ogoro Police Station as investigations continue.

The deceased’s body has been preserved at the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal assault before the suspect is arraigned in court.
