uhuruPresident Uhuru Kenyatta will be expanding his cabinet from 19 to 22 members soon after he is sworn in for a second term on Tuesday.

The President has made it clear that in his second and final term, it will not be business as usual. He, according to sources plans on cleaning house and forming an all inclusive government unlike the one he has now.

The Jubilee government as is composed, consists of mainly Kikuyus and Kalenjins and a few Somalis, Luhyas.

Names tipped for the axe are; Jacob Kaimenyi (Lands), Hassan Wario (Sports), Judy Wakhungu (Environment), Phyllis Kandie (EAC), Cleopa Mailu (Health), Rachel Omamo (Defence).

However, some of the names to be axed are said will be considered for other state jobs.

Kenyatta is said to be keen “on a legacy” as he marks the beginning of his last term in office.

He is touted to most likely bring on board election losers mostly from opposition strongholds. The list of incoming CSs has been kept under wraps with a local daily reporting that only he (Uhuru) and Deputy President William Ruto are in the know.

The 22 member team will be Ruto’s chance to woo the NASA supporters as he prepares to take over the reigns of power in 2022.

The DP who is poised to take over from his boss, has been head hunting election losers from Kisii and ODM governors in what sources say is a well laid out plan for his 2022 presidential bid.

The new cabinet, principal secretaries and parastatal heads posts will be evenly distributed with people from central Kenya bagging fewer slots.

The new face of the Jubilee regime will be revealed before the end of December.

Uhuru, while speaking in Kirinyaga on Thursday asked that Kenyans shun tribalism and instead build the nation. He asked Odinga to work with his government to bring change and development as should county governments.

”We cannot achieve development with tribalism and politics all the time. Allow me to work for five years then go,” he said.

He also indicated that time for politicking was over as he took a swipe at political analysts appearing for TV interviews up until now.
