Uhuru Unfollows And Follows DP Ruto On Twitter

President Uhuru Kenyatta has unfollowed and followed Deputy President William Ruto on Twitter.

The Head of State as of Friday morning followed 33 people, including other heads of state and six Kenyans among them the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Aden Duale, Dennis Itumbi, Henry Rotich, Manoah Esipisu and Ezekiel Kemboi.

The situation has since changed as he has followed back his deputy on the social media platform. His number of followers now stand at 34.

According to newly released 2018 “World Leaders on Facebook” study by Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW), is the second most followed leader in Africa on Facebook with 3.17 million followers as Indian PM Narendra Modi takes the first place.

This comes after the ‘handshake’ between former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Kenyatta which word has it, the DP did not know about.

Speaking on Wednesday, Odinga said ‘the only way to implement the agreement with Uhuru is through constitutional reforms.’

He has in the past called for the re-introduction of the Bomas draft constitution that proposed a parliamentary system headed by a prime minister.

But the DP has dismissed referendum calls and has insisted that it is not the time to politic but ‘to complete our development agenda that we promised the electorate.’

Ruto’s allies have accused Raila of using the handshake to gain political mileage ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.
