Uhuru Kenyatta has been declared the President of the Republic of Kenya by the IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati at the Bomas of Kenya.
Mr Kenyatta who was running on a Jubilee party ticket garnered 8.2million (54.27%) against NASA candidate, Raila Odinga’s 6.7 million votes which translated into 44.74%.
Uhuru got more than 25% of the votes in 35 counties while Odinga had the same percentage of votes in 29 counties.
Chebukati during the announcement asked for a moment of silence in honour of slain IEBC commissioner, Chris Msando.

He also noted that the voter turn out was at 15 million voters (78%) and the KIEMS were successful in helping deliver a free, fair and credible election.
