    Uhuru Names Preferred Candidate For Nairobi County Assembly Speaker

    county assemblyPresident Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday held a meeting at the State House with Jubilee Ward Representatives where he made known his preferred candidate for the County Assembly Speaker seat.

    The seat has been hotly contested with Rachel Shebesh, Karen Nyamu, Beatrice Elachi all contesting for the said seat.

    The President issued what the ward representatives referred to as an ‘executive order.’

    Uhuru asked the representatives to marshal the numbers behind former nominated Senator, Beatrice Elachi.

    He directed that they get the job done. In his address, he also asked that they back Matopeni MCA Abdi Guyo Hussein for the Majority leader post and Mwaura Chege (Ngara) for the Majority Whip position.

    Should Elachi win, she will be deputized by Kamangu Nyumu (Ruai).
