40 Per Cent Of Kenyans Blame Uhuru, Raila For The Rampant Corruption – Infotrak Survey Shows

Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are responsible for the rampant corruption in the country, Infotrak’s August survey shows.

According to the poll results, 40 per cent of Kenyans think that the two are to blame for the wrong direction that the country is headed in together with the county governors.

87 per cent of Kenyans also support the March 29 handshake between Uhuru and Raila because it saw improvement in security and peace. But 34 per cent of the citizenry feel the duo came together for their own selfish gains.

43 per cent of Kenyans do however feel that the country is in a good place, with 56% of them attributing it to peace.

Others attribute it to improved healthcare, corrupt leaders being brought to book and the reclaiming of public property.

Kenyans are also worried about the high cost of living, high rate of unemployment, poverty, education and insecurity.

64 per cent of the people are however in support of the on going demolition of illegal property while 94 per cent of Kenyans fully back the apprehending of corrupt leaders.

The survey also shows that public trust in the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has risen to 40 per cent.

29 per cent of Kenyans have gained trust in the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) while 36% are still skeptical about the anti-corruption agency executing their mandate effectively.

The public does not have confidence in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). 53 per cent of the people would like to see the commission fully disbanded and formed a fresh.
