A car (Reg No KCM 485Y) belonging to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) office on Friday hit a woman’s car while driving in the wrong side of the road.

“The matter has been brought to the attention of the DPP. The motor vehicle belongs to the ODPP and the DPP has directed that immediate action be taken by National Police against the driver involved. The public shall be informed of the progress of the case,” the office of the DPP said in a tweet.

The social media user, Serah Waithera noted that “very important people” hit her and the matter reported to the police but was “not taken seriously.”

Police also responded to the matter noting that “some of these officers have in the past been engaging in reckless behavior and have been harassing other Motorists in the name of allowing their VIPs quick passage.”

“This unacceptable behavior has not only caused anger and concern on the part of the motoring public but has also resulted to untold suffering and inconveniences,” the police tweeted.

As a result, all officers on VIP security detail have been instructed to follow the highway code and obey traffic rules like other motorists.

“All officers on VIP security duties have therefore been instructed to stop this behavior forthwith; must therefore follow the highway code and obey the traffic law just like other motorists,” another tweet read.
