He attended Tulare Union High School, where he played high school football and quickly established himself as a talented pass-catching tight end.

During his high school career, Green earned First-Team All-East Yosemite League honors after recording 61 receptions for 1,104 yards and 12 touchdowns.

College Football Career

Green continued his football career at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he played for the Nevada Wolf Pack.

He redshirted his freshman season in 2006 while recovering from an injury. After returning, Green appeared in all 13 games in 2007 and 2008, and all 12 games in 2009.

During this time, he became a key offensive target for Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

In 2009, Green was part of a historic Nevada offense that became the first team in NCAA history to have three players rush for more than 1,000 yards in the same season, highlighting the team’s powerful ground attack.

Awards

In 2010, Green received further national attention when he was the only player from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) named to the watch list for the John Mackey Award, which recognizes the best tight end in college football.
