Jubilee candidate for the Kiambu governor seat, Ferdinand Waititu was on Tuesday on the streets of Kiambu seeking ‘street justice’ best way he knows how.

The Member of Parliament for Kabete was fighting for Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology’s (KIST) land together with its students.

According to the student leader, Newton Maina, the institution is not registered under the Technical and Vocational Educational and Training (TVET) Act of 2013.

”We are very angry. The institution is not registered because it does not own land that was stolen by a few people. Our certificates will not be recognized,” Maina said.

The protest caused a traffic snarl up in Kiambu town as Waititu joined in swaying twigs and uprooting beacons that subdivided the land.

The gubernatorial hopeful said that the land that KIST stood on was public land and would not allow individuals steal what belongs to the people.

The students asked the President to intervene.
