Who was the late Isiolo South MP Bidu

Mohamed Tubi Bidu was elected as the Member of the National Assembly for Isiolo South Constituency in Isiolo County year 2022.

He came from leadership family, he is brother to late Jafar Tupi.

He died November 12, 2025 at the Nairobi Hospital.

He was elected in August 2022 under the Jubilee Party and he was serving his first term in the 13th Parliament.

His legislative interests include wildlife conservation, environmental management, and infrastructure development.

Prior to his national role, he played a prominent part in county-level governance, demonstrating leadership and a strong commitment to constituency welfare.

Tubi began his formal education at Isiolo Secondary School, where he completed his O‑Level studies between 1971 and 1975.

He then attended the College of African Wildlife Management in Moshi, Tanzania, earning a diploma in wildlife between 1999 and 2001.

Later, he pursued higher education at Gretsa University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development between 2015 and 2018.

Bidu’s professional journey spans several sectors, notably wildlife management, public service, and governance.

Between 1993 and 1996, he served as Acting Warden-in-Charge at the Isiolo County Council.
From 1997 to 1999, he advanced to Game Warden and Senior Warden in the same council.

Tubi then transitioned to Isiolo Parks as Chief Game Warden from 2004 to 2008, demonstrating deep experience in wildlife protection and park management.

He assumed the position of Chief Game Warden at Maasai Mara National Reserve under Narok County between 2009 and 2012.

Subsequently, he held the same role in Samburu Park from 2012 to 2013.

His leadership credentials were further solidified when he became the inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly from 2013 to 2017.

Mohamed Tubi returned to active public service by successfully contesting the parliamentary seat for Isiolo South in 2022.

President William Ruto said Tubi will be remembered as a dedicated public servant and a passionate advocate for education, who believed in empowering communities through knowledge and opportunity.
“His commitment to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo stands as a lasting legacy of his leadership,” he said.
