According to police, the incident occurred at around noon on Friday while the victim, identified as Joinah Nafula Simiyu, was alone at home.

Her husband, had already left for work.

Neighbours responded after the incident and rushed her to Webuye County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The matter was later reported at Matulo Police Post.

Police visited and processed the scene as part of the investigation.

The body was moved to the Webuye County Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the electrocution.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Peterson Josphat Onkoba, had been working at the site when he allegedly slipped and fell onto a live electric wire, sustaining severe injuries.

His co-workers rushed him to Mbagathi Hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries around midnight.

According to police, the incident was reported at Kiambu Police Station on Friday.

Police said two security guards attached to Riverside Estate escorted the suspect—identified only as Kimani—to the station after alleging he had trespassed into the estate with the intention of stealing.

The suspect was allegedly beaten by the guards before being taken to the station. Before a formal report could be recorded, he reportedly collapsed inside the police station.

The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) directed officers to escort the injured suspect to Kiambu Level 5 Hospital for treatment.
