    Woman found dead in bed in Kikuyu as husband goes missing

    Police in Kikuyu Sub-county, Kiambu County launched investigations into a suspected murder following the death of a 42-year-old woman under unclear circumstances.

    The incident was reported early Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026, at around 6:13 a.m. from Gicharani area in Gikambura.

    Police visited the scene and found the body of Patricia Atulel Misani Musiwa lying on her bed.

    Preliminary observations revealed that the deceased had sustained a broken left limb and bruises on both knees.

    According to the reportee, the deceased’s mother-in-law, her son—who is the husband to the deceased—is currently missing.

    He had allegedly informed his mother that his wife returned home intoxicated, claiming she had been involved in a motorcycle accident.

    Police say efforts to trace him are ongoing.

    Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel processed and documented the scene, and the body was moved to St. Teresa Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

    Authorities are treating the incident as a suspected murder as investigations continue.

    Elsewhere, a suspected murder incident is under investigation after the body of a middle-aged man was discovered along a roadside in Othaya, Nyeri County.

    According to police, the lifeless body of Geoffrey Mwangi Gichacha, 42, was found lying on the tarmac along the Thunguri–Kiandemi road on the morning of Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

    The incident was reported with preliminary information indicating that the body had been spotted earlier by members of the public.

    Police confirmed that the deceased was a resident of Murang’a County.

    His body was later moved to the Nyeri Provincial General Hospital (PGH) mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to establish the cause of death.

    Authorities have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with no arrests reported so far.
