Woman found murdered in boyfriend’s house in Nyeri

Detectives were Monday hunting for a man who killed his 42-year-old girlfriend in his house in Kiamariga, Nyeri County.

The body of Annah Nyaguthi was found in the man’s house long after she had died.

The boyfriend was a houseboy at a home in the area where he had invited the woman on March 6. He escaped the scene after the murder, police and the locals said.

Police visited the scene and found the house locked from outside before they forced it open and found the body on the floor with visible injuries on the face and the neck which was slit.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

The hunt on the suspected assailant continued on Monday, police said.

Elsewhere in Ndiru, Homa Bay County, a body was found floating on river Orembe after a suspected drowning incident.

The victim was later identified as Philip Odhiambo, 52. The circumstances under which he drowned were not immediately known.

Police moved the body to the mortuary pending other procedures.

And police are pursuing a gang that stabbed and wounded a German national in Menengai Forest, Nakuru County.

The victim was in the company of other enthusiasts when they were attacked by suspected thugs who were armed with knives.

They robbed the victims of their cash, passports, car keys, a camera and a bag with assorted personal valuables.

They also stabbed the foreigner in the thigh and hit him in the head as they escaped the scene on March 6, police said.

The victims were rescued by other visitors to the area and taken to the hospital for attention. Police said on Monday their hunt for the suspects was ongoing.

Elsewhere in Samburu’s Sereolipi area, a group of officials from Marsabit County escaped death after their motorcade was shot at.

The group which included the county speaker was speeding towards Isiolo when they were shot at in the Milima Tatu area by unknown assailants.

The speaker was in the company of three Members of the County Assembly then. One of their vehicles was hit by a bullet as they sped off. Police were informed of the incident and visited the scene but no arrest was made.

The stretch is usually regarded dangerous due to repeated attacks by suspected thugs who are armed with rifles.
