Detectives are investigating an incident where the body of a 32-year-old woman was found in a house after suspected murder in Gatanga, Muranga County.
Police said they are investigating if the woman was assaulted before her murder on February 23.
The body was found half naked Gatura village with visible injuries on the forehead, blood stains on the jumper.
Police said there were human feaces scattered at the scene and a female pant a distance away.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations into the murder.
In Kiandutu area, Kiambu County, a security guard was stabbed and killed by an intruder to a construction site.
Witnesses said the intruder arrived at the site and demanded to access it to collect what he termed as waste.
This led to an altercation after the guards denied him access. A survivor said the suspect drew a knife that he used to stab them killing Stephen Mbiyu. His colleague was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital, police said.
The assailant escaped the scene soon after the incident which happened on Monday, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Lungalunga, Kwale County an elderly man was killed in his house in what is suspected to be ongoing killings targeting the old over land issues.
The body of Ndoro Mwaba Said, 72 was found in bed and in a pool of blood with deep cuts in his head and neck.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations, police said.
Such cases have been on the rise in the area amid efforts to address the trend. Police say their investigations show the gangs behind the attacks are targeting land in the area.
Police are struggling to solve the cases so far reported. The cases happen in Kilifi and Kwale Counties, investigations show.
